IBS Paper Performance, an Austrian manufacturer of products for the paper and pulp industry, will invest R$ 10 million to build a new plant in Nova Odessa. The company, which has been based in Brazil for more than 10 years, serves the entire country and Latin America with products made at its plant in Americana, from where it imports other products manufactured at its subsidiaries around the world.

It will generate 20 new direct jobs for the production of machinery and safety tapes for the pulp and paper industry in the new plant that relied on the support from the Investment Promotion Agency of the State of São Paulo. InvestSP provided environmental and infrastructure advice to the company during the evaluation of places to make the investment.

“We are very happy with the company’s announcement. We have worked extensively with the company to find a suitable area for its project. With a clearer economic scenario, the company decided that it was time to make the investment, something very positive for Nova Odessa and for the State of São Paulo,” said the president of InvestSP, Wilson Mello.

IBS needed to be close to its unit in Americana and with the support from the municipality of Nova Odessa, the company decided to build it in the city. The plant will start operations in December 2020. To streamline the project implementation, the development will be built in a business condominium near the Anhanguera highway.
