VR Group will build three shopping centers in São Paulo

The VR Group, which became known for its activity in the service tickets and cards, will build three malls, besides commercial towers and two residential buildings in São Paulo.  "Despite the cost of the land, for now, we think about doing only in the city", says the chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo VR, Abram Szajman, Who avoids talk of numbers, but has already allocated R$ 1 billion (US$ 588 million ) between land and construction of the real estate undertakings.

In some of them, the group operates with its partner Yuny, a medium-sized land developer that develops residential and commercial projects. The first mall of the Grupo VR will be at Largo da Batata (Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima with Rua Teodoro Sampaio in the West side). The undertaking will include 90 thousand m2 of built area and 25 thousand m2 for lease.  A second mall of the group will be built in the south side, in an area of 103,000 m2, on the land where was the Caloi bicycles factory. "We are looking for another area for a third mall", says Szajman, who is also chairman of Fecomercio SP and of the regional councils of SESC, SENAC and SEBRAE-SP.   

The group will also construct buildings at Ordem e Progresso avenue, in Barra Funda. There will be two towers, one commercial and the other residential in an area of 70 thousand m2. There are plans for other towers in the south side. On the corner of Chucri Zaidan and Morumbi avenues, next to the building that was the headquarters of BankBoston, the Grupo VR, in association with the Grupo San Joaquin, will build a commercial tower with 36 thousand m2 and, in the future, a second tower of 48 thousand m2. In Santo Amaro region, the Grupo VR  will have another new undertaking with 50 thousand m2 of apartments.  

Besides real estate, the bank operates in the area of technology for financial services, including the Smart.Net cards to receive benefits from companies.  The group also owns the Banco VR (multiple bank), an asset management company, the VR Capital, and a fund of private equity, besides an international financial holding company headquartered in New York, among other businesses.
