Volkswagen sells less in the world, yet grows in Brazil

Volkswagen had gain in its market share in January, with a slower fall in the sales than the 24% retraction suffered by the industry worldwide. Volkswagen's sales fell 14.1% in January, to 246.7 thousand vehicles, informed the company yesterday. The company also confirmed that the delivery of vehicles of the group to clients fell 20% in January, to nearly 382 thousand units. Volkswagen informed it does not see a recovery at the horizon, but it registered an improvement in growth in Russia, where the sales of the group increased 12.7% to 6.6 thousand vehicles. In Brazil, the company's third largest market, after Germany and China, also registered growth, increasing 1.3% to 47.6 thousand units. In China, sales fell 11%, to 83.9 thousand vehicles.
