The second half of this year started positive for the Brazilian giant Totvs, management software developer that has just opened eight new operations in four countries of Latin America, one in Europe and one in Africa. The company that earned R$ 1 billion (US$ 540.5 million) last year now has two operations in Paraguay and in Argentina, besides Bolivia, Uruguay, Portugal and Angola.

The expansion process is the result of the internationalization project of Totvs, whose purpose is to increase the company share in the international software market, besides getting closer to and customizing the service to the customers of those countries. In total, Totvs will have 15 units abroad Brazil that should offer the company's entire portfolio. "Just like in Brazil, the Totvs franchises abroad are not mere sales offices, but distribution channels. That means that all process are integrated to the controls, methodologies and procedures of our company, that is, it is Totvs in the region", explains Flavio Balestrin, Totvs International Operations Officer.

The new units should integrate the franchising model of the company, constituted by operations commanded by local entrepreneurs who distribute all Totvs products and render services of implementation and support, according to the tax and legal requirements of each country.

Totvs ended the second quarter of the year with net earnings of R$ 240.283 million (US$ 129.9 million), which corresponds to an increase of 15.6% compared to what was registered in the same period last year. In the first half of this year, the company catered to more than 8,200 clients, a 21.1% increase compared to the number of clients of the first half of 2008, pushing the sales in the period up. In the last quarter, 110 new clients integrated the portfolio of the company, which ended the quarter with nearly 23.7 thousand active clients.
