To diversify, H-Buster goes beyond car sound

On the market of Information Technology (IT), one of the important strategies for the manufacturers of equipment is to have a diversified product line that allows the company to avoid problems with the fall in the sales of a piece of equipment at a given period. The idea is that if a computer sells little, another product, such as a mobile phone or tablet, may have better performance and make up for possible losses.
That is the logics behind the investments of companies like Apple, Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Dell in the segments of tablets and smartphones that is leading the Brazilian car sound maker H-Buster to the segment of notebooks. With an investment of R$ 50 million (US$ 31.3 million), the company is erecting a plant in the region of Cotia. The unit - the third of the company in the country -, will be inaugurated next month and it plans to initially employ 600 employees. At its maximum capacity, it will be able to produce 250 thousand pieces of equipment a year, according to Guilherme Ho, President and co-founder of H-Buster.
The goal is to inaugurate the unit in July and begin selling the notebooks in September. There will be two models intended for the consumers of classes B and C, the main buyers of products by H-Buster. The prices of the equipment has not yet been defined. The project of notebooks was ordered to Haier, Chinese brand of electronics and home appliances with 70 thousand employees worldwide. In Brazil, the equipment will be sold under the H-Buster brand.
According to Ho, the plan of H-Buster is not to directly fight for the market with manufacturers like HP, Positivo, Dell and Lenovo. The strategy is to diversify its product line. "As an electronics company, we need to be alert to the market and have products available. Otherwise, we run the risk of disappearing from the market", says the Executive. According to him, the offer of more products has also been a demand of the retail chains. "They want to have options of suppliers to be able to negotiate prices and terms of delivery. The more products you have to offer, the better", he says. Ho's plans are the entry in the markets of tablets and cell phones that could be made in Cotia.
