The development agencies of the states that recently had their activities increased by a resolution of the National Monetary Council (CMN), want to improve and strengthen the relationship with the National Development Bank (BNDES) in the transfer of resources for micro-, small- and medium-size companies. The approaching with the BNDES will be one of the priorities of the new board of directors of the Brazilian Association of Financial Institutions of Development (ABDE) take will take office on Wednesday. The entity gathers 26 institutions among agencies of development, and federal and state development banks.
The new president of the ABDE, Maurício Chacur, from Investe Rio, said there is a huge space to be filled by the development agencies as entities responsible for the transfers of the BNDES financing lines to the micro-, small- and medium-sized businessmen. "We want to develop a public system of financing in which the BNDES is the anchor and the agencies, the strategic partners", said Chacur. The idea is to make the flow of funds between the BNDES and the agencies become faster. Currently, the official procedures and the reanalysis of processes can cause the companies requests for financing to take months to be approved, said Chacur.
"There is a series of pieces of information the BNDES has that could turn the learning of the new agencies, and of those being created, faster", said the new president of the ABDE. He mentions as examples the BNDES experience in the risk classification and in the analysis of the financial and economic feasibility of projects. Chacur replaces Pedro Falabella in the office of the presidency of the ABDE, in an event held at the headquarters of the BNDES, in Brasilia. Luciano Coutinho, president of the BNDES will attend the ceremony. For him, the strengthening of the development agencies is a priority for the BNDES, because the access to small companies and local productive arrangements, mainly in the less developed States, is a great challenge for the bank, which has no capillarity.
