The government of São Paulo presents the state’s economic and cultural potential to an international audience at Expo Dubai. From October 24th to 31st, the Brazil Pavilion will host São Paulo Expo Week, during the main event for innovation and creative economy in the world, with the participation of over 190 countries.

São Paulo Expo Week features artistic, cultural and sports presentations and reinforces the state’s vocation for investment opportunities, new projects and technology innovation. The government of the United Arab Emirates invested over US$8.5 billion in Expo Dubai, which started on October 1st and runs until March 31, 2022.

“We brought the most robust project to the Brazilian pavilion at Expo Dubai. An experience that combines entertainment, business and creative economy. We are showing the strength of the most powerful state in Brazil with a unique participation, the size of São Paulo,” said Gustavo Diniz Junqueira, President of InvestSP, the state agency for the promotion of investments and competitiveness.

Between October 22 and 29, InvestSP also brings together a delegation of entrepreneurs from São Paulo on a trade mission to Dubai. With an agenda drawn up at InvestSP office in Dubai, this initiative promotes new business between Brazilian and foreign companies and seeks to attract investments to all regions of the state.

Creative economy

World Exhibitions are a great opportunity for states and countries to strengthen diplomatic and trade relations with each other. To show the world its best, São Paulo takes a 96-hour schedule of presentations to Expo Dubai.

“The event is an opportunity that will provide great visibility to show the world the huge potential of cultural institutions in São Paulo. It is also an invaluable opportunity to generate jobs and income for the partners participating in this edition of Expo Dubai,” reinforced Sérgio Sá Leitão, Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy of São Paulo.

About Expo Dubai

World Exhibitions have been held since 1851, every five years. Dubai was selected in 2013 to host the 2020 edition of the Expo, which was postponed until this year due to the pandemic. With the theme “Connecting Minds and Creating a Future”, Expo Dubai is divided into three pillars: opportunity, mobility and sustainability.

About the SP Mission

Promoted by InvestSP, the Expo Dubai Mission is the largest business mission of the Government of São Paulo in the foreign market. Between October 22 and 29, 40 businessmen will participate in meetings in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah to close deals and seek investments.

São Paulo government officials also promote the state as the main business hub in Brazil. The group is formed by Governor João Doria and state secretaries Julio Serson (International Relations), Henrique Meirelles (Finance and Planning), Patricia Ellen (Economic Development), Sérgio Sá Leitão (Culture and Creative Economy), Vinicius Lummertz (Tourism), Itamar Borges (Agriculture and Supply) and Marcos Penido (Infrastructure and Environment).
