The sale of computers, including desktops, notebooks and netbooks, should grow 13% in Latin America in 2011, showed the survey made by IDC. The category of netbooks will stand out in the sales, whose volume, according to the entity, should be 29% greater than last year, favored by State educational policies in Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela. The forecast points to the sales of 7.4 million units.
The sales of notebooks will keep its high growth rates, with growth of 18% compared to 2010, reaching 13.1 million units sold, according to estimates of IDC. According to the company, the good economic moment in Latin America and the increased purchasing power of the consumers in some countries will motivate the growth. Desktops, on their turn, will lose market and they should face less accelerated growth in the medium and long term, of only 3% compared to 2010. The demand of home and corporate users will increase the number of desktops sold to nearly 15.7 million units.
The Brazilian companies are using more business tools, finds out the IDC report. A study of the consulting firm reveals the sales of software for that area generated 300 million Dollars in 2010, growing 20% compared to the previous year. For the IDC, one of the factors that helped the expansion was a greater adhesion of SMEs.
