Quality Steel invests R$ 150 million in new steel factory and logistics center in Cruzeiro
New branch will be the sixth plant of Jefer Group in Brazil and will provide mainly for automobile and car parts industries in the country
Quality still has announced on May 21st the building of a new factory in the city of Cruzeiro, where it will provide quenched steel and steel products for several industrial sectors such as automotive, construction, eletro-eletronic and equipment.
The unit will receive investments of R$ 150 million, creating initially 150 jobs, with the potential of generating until 300 job posts. The venture is receiving support from Investe São Paulo, the investment promotion agency liked to the secretariat otf Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation of the State of São Paulo.
“We have been attending to the project for a year, and we have given support especially regarding environmental licensing and tax pleas. We also have introduced the company to Desenvolve SP, which is evaluating the request for financing”, says Investe SP president, Luciano Almeida.
In Cruzeiro, Quality Steel will count with a logistic center for processing steel and commercializing steel products. Therefore, the factory will make plate cuts, blanks, rolls, tubes and other itens, producing about 500 thousand tons per year.
The potential clients of the company in Cruzeiro are mainly vehicle and car parts assemblers, located in a radius of 220 kilometers. The factory is being built in a 110 thousand square meters area. Initially, there will be constructed an industrial complex with 20 thousand square meters of built area, with a prevision of increase to 55 thousand square meters.
“We picked Cruzeiro for being strategically located between the main consumer markets in Brazil. Besides, we have have found, in Investe SP and the cityhall, all the necessary support for us to expand our production”, explains Jefer Group president, Silvio Sanches.
