Italian giant Pirelli plans to spend around R$1 billion in Latin America in the next three years, most of that in Brazil. The money will modernize its factories in Bahia, São Paulo, and Rio Grande do Sul to the so-called 4.0 wave of digitized manufacturing. The push is part of a plan to increase Pirelli’s market share of premium products. “I trust Brazil, a young country that always knew how to recover from tough times,” global CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera told Valor.
