With more than $2 billion still to be invested in companies and infrastructure projects, asset manager Pátria Investimentos believes that Brazil is experiencing the best investment cycle since 2000. "Risk-adjusted return seems very interesting," Pátria economist Luís Fernando Lopes said during a Wednesday meeting with journalists. In July 2014, Pátria raised a private-equity fund of $1,8 billion. Of this total, only 20% have been invested in three companies whose names were not disclosed. Last year, the asset manager raised another $1.7 billion for infrastructure projects, and 80% of this amount has not yet been invested.
