The growth of the sectors of oil and gas, the food industry and the Soccer World Cup are having the organizers of shows and events busy and making them estimate growth of more than 20% in 2010. In order to increase their participation, companies like Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado and Brazil Trade Show bet on the consolidation of this market with the acquisition of new fairs and increase of the portfolio of events held.
Besides announcing, among the main events for the coming year, the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Auto Show, Reed Alcantara estimates growing 22%, above the previous estimate of 15%. The growth is due to the entry in the sectors of oil, publishing market, environment and tourism. Another trade fair promoter, Brazil Trade Expo (BTS) estimates growing 15% in 2010, also due to the increase of the sectors of the company that this year announced the acquisition of ForMóbile, aimed at the wood-furniture industry. The company also celebrates the results achieved in the major events, including the Fispal, Mercoagro, Tecnocarne and ABF Franchising Expo.
The growth of the industry of large-size events opens doors to new players, such as AGS3, that bets on the holding of fairs for suppliers of the oil and gas chain. Producer of the Santos Offshore, the company expects to see the transaction volume generated in its main event go from $ 300 million ($ 174.4 million) to $ 400 million ($ 232.6 million) in 2010. The primary motivation comes from the investments Petrobras will make in the basin of Santos and the advent of pre-salt.
With an eye on the business opportunities to be generated with the FIFA World Cup, Fagga Eventos/GL Events has joined the sports marketing firms Traffic Sports and Football Sports Venture, owned by Soccer Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira to hold the Footecon 2009, on December 8 and 9 at the Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro. The companies estimate the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil will generate $ 100 billion that will be added to the nearly US$ 20 billion the soccer industry already generates every year in the country. This way, the soccer may heat up the Brazilian economy with US$ 200 billion to US$ 210 billion in the period between 2009 and 2014.
Until the end of next year, the Brazilian Union of Promoters of Fairs and Exhibitions (Ubrafe) foresees the holding of 170 tradeshows, 153 of which have already been confirmed in 22 Brazilian cities of 12 States. From that total, 112 will be held in São Paulo - main center of fairs of the Country.
