Folha de S. Paulo
Nossa Caixa starts to intermediate the transference of four credit lines of the BNDES (National Development Bank). Two of them, considered by the managers of both financial institutions as the most attractive ones, offer interest rates of 4.5% and 7% a year and are aimed at the acquisition of machinery and equipment. They started being offered yesterday and may only be acquired until December 31.
The lines cater to companies of all sizes, and the minimum financeable value is R$ 30 thousand (US$ 15.8 thousand). The maximum is of up to 100% of the value of the asset in the financings aimed at micro-, small- and medium-sized companies and of up to 80% in operations with large corporations. They also cover the purchase of buses and trucks.
Nossa Caixa, which was purchased in 2008 by Banco do Brasil, will also start to issue the BNDES card under the Visa brand, aimed at companies with gross sales of up to R$ 60 million (US$ 31.6 million) a year. It will be available as of the 31st and will operate with a limit of R$ 500 thousand (US$ 263.2 thousand). With it the companies may acquire more than 100 thousand production goods listed by the BNDES, like materials of the furniture and textile sectors.
Besides providing funds for the modernization and the replacement of machinery and equipment, one of these lines, the PEC-BNDES, provides working capital and will finance values starting at R$ 500 thousand (US$ 263.2 thousand). According to the President of Nossa Caixa, Demian Fiocca, this working capital line is considered an anti-cyclical public policy and may only be applied for until the end of this year. "We want to prevent that a retraction in the banking system, due to the crisis, leaves the companies short of cash." The credit lines are included in the Program of Sustainable of Development, with minimum financing of R$ 30 thousand (US$ 15.8 thousand), and in the Credit Special Program, for operations starting at R$ 500 thousand (US$ 263.2 thousand).
