Nestlé opens long-life milk plant in Araraquara

Nestlé opened yesterday, in Araraquara (SP), its new long-life milk unit. With a R$ 120 million (US$ 69.8 million) investment, the plant has productive capacity of 100 million liters a year of milk premium with the nutritional differential of the Ninho and Molico brands. According to the company, the new unit should generate 1.6 thousand direct and indirect jobs.

Launched in April in the State of São Paulo, Ninho Fortificado - whole milk enriched with iron and A, C and D vitamins - and Molico A&D - skim milk enriched with vitamins A and D - are already present on the market of Rio de Janeiro and will get to the other States of the Southeast and South within the coming months.

 "Since April, when Nestlé entered in the market of premium milk, it has been delivering extremely high quality milk to the consumer. Besides, the plant will be a stimulus to recover the potential of the dairy basin of Araraquara and region", said the President of Nestlé Brasil, Ivan Zurita. The consumption of long life milk in the country is nearly 5 billion liters, according to the Latin Panel.
