The first stage of Investe SP’s mission to the United States held in conjunction with the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham), ended on Tuesday, April 10, in Washington, D.C. The chairman of Investe São Paulo, Luciano Almeida, and the agency's International analyst, Rafael Murgi, attended a meeting at the US Chamber, the largest business entity in the United States.

Approximately 50 representatives from companies, associations and American consulting companies attended the event, including the Ex-Im Bank and Washington’s Development Department for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.

Almeida presented the investment opportunities in São Paulo, stressing that the State accounts for 32% of the country's GDP and 21% of the Brazilian population. He also explained the role of Investe SP, and placed the Agency's services at the disposal of investors. "One of the highlights of the State is the program of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), which currently allows the investor to submit partnership proposals through the Expressions of Interest from Private Enterprises (EIP)," said Almeida.

The other members of the Amcham commission that are in the United States to take information to potential stakeholders, talked about other key issues for investing and doing business in Brazil, such as the management of taxes for corporations, government contracts, environmental permits, obtaining financing and business partnerships.

On Wednesday, March 11, the Mission continues with the workshop "How to do business and invest in Brazil" in New York. On March 12, the event will take place in Boston. The participation of approximately 70 companies is estimated for each workshop.
