Mayor of the City of London is presented with the investment opportunities in the State of São Paulo

Director of Investe SP strengthens relations between the two regions and presented the agency services

The mayor of the City of London, David Wootton, and his delegation of businessmen visited this Thursday, October 25, the headquarters of Investe São Paulo to strengthen relations between the regions. The director of International and Institutional Relations of Investe SP, Sérgio Costa, presented the main attractions of the State of São Paulo to foreign investors.

Costa showed that it is in São Paulo where large companies and businesses are. “São Paulo has the largest economy of Brazil. The per capita income of the state population is 1.5 times greater than the average per capita income of the Brazilian population,” said Costa.

According to the director, the social mobility in the country is rapidly changing and the steady growth of Brazil in recent years showed a constant population migration from the lower to the middle class.

In addition, Costa emphasized the possibility of public and private investments, introducing the PPPs, and offered free services provided by the agency to prospective English investors. “Our goal is to always offer a greater competitiveness to the companies,” he added.

For the mayor of the City of London, it is important to know how to invest in Brazil, especially in São Paulo. “São Paulo is the main gateway for British companies to start operating in Brazil,” he concluded.

At the end of the meeting, issues such as infrastructure, taxes in the country, projects created from PPPs and MIP and Brazil’s competitiveness were discussed in relation to other countries.

The meeting was also attended by the Manager of International Relations of Investe São Paulo, Luis Fernando Arbex, the International analyst, Rafael Murgi and the Technical Advisor, Laura Mesquita Barbosa, and two aides of the mayor, two representatives of the consulate and five English delegates.
