With 72 square meters of built area, the center, according to the operator, is the only one in Brazil capable of guaranteeing all pre-requirements of quality for storage and distribution of the segments' products, mainly in terms of the demands of temperature. The DC, in an area of 170 thousand square meters, has ceiling height of 12 meters and capacity for 60 thousand palletes distributed in an acclimated area which surpass 1 million cubic meters and another 15 thousand cubic meters of cold chambers. It has also 108 navy yards furnished with grader platform. The center is called Bomi, a company resulting from the joit venture created between the Luft Group and the Italian Bomi Group. The DC received investiments of R$ 75 million (US$ 42.9 million) from Matec Engenharia, which leased it to Bomi for 10 years."Bomi has another R$ 75 million (US$ 42.9 million) of investiments made by Luft Express, owner of 600 isothermic and acclimatized trucks, specialized in the distribution of medical-hospital products », says stockholder Fernando Luft, 34, son of one of its founders. The Luft Group has a special characteristic - more than 90% of its needs of transportation is covered by its own fleet. 1.65 thousand trucks (600 from Luft Express) transport 2.1 million tons, travel 144 million kilometers, make 900 thousand deliveries and cover 150 thousand points per year. "We have our own fleet as a need and also as an eficiency factor. Look: this enormous DC we are inaugurating. The products are stored in temperatures that reach 70 degrees below zero. In the same space of the DC we have Luft Express' structure. That is, we are integrated. We take from the warehouse and deliver directly. If we had to hire third-party vehicles, the product would have to be taken out, loaded, taken to the transporter's headquarters, and be routerized until being placed in its destination. See how many stages we eliminate with our own fleet, which avoids reworks, guarantees quality and reduces costs. »
