LabTec, which operates in chemical analysis for the veterinarian sector, has programmed an investment of R$ 13 million (US$ 6.74 million) to have new two laboratories. The strategic plan of the company, started in Campinas (SP) more than 30 years ago, also includes the offer of services for the chemical analysis of foods, cosmetics and medicines of human use as well.
The first one of the two laboratories that has already gone into operation was inaugurated in Hortolândia (SP) and consumed an investment of R$ 5 million (US$ 2.6 million). The works of the second new unit, that will demand resources of R$ 8 million (US$ 4.15 million), will start between January and February, according to Savio Ambrozini, director of the company. Until the inauguration of the new laboratory LabTec had one unit that will be replaced when the two new units are operative.
Part of the investments will be made with own resources and part with resources to be borrowed, possibly, from the BNDES (National Development Bank), according to Ambrozini. The construction of the two new units represents the greatest investments of the company carried out at a single time in its little more than 30 years of existence.
