InvestSP, São Paulo’s investment promotion agency linked to the state’s Economic Development Secretariat (SDE), has officially joined the Brazilian Business Network for Life Cycle Assessment (Rede ACV), a platform designed to mobilize and engage governments, businesses, and consumers in assessing the life cycle of products and services. This approach allows for a deeper understanding of sustainability across the entire value chain.

InvestSP's entry into the ACV Network last week aligns with the state's development priorities, which the agency is tasked with promoting. These priorities include encouraging projects focused on energy transition, decarbonization of transportation, and circular economy practices.

In addition to providing support to the private sector on these issues, InvestSP is also working with the state's Secretariat of Environment, Infrastructure, and Logistics (SEMIL) to shape policies aimed at achieving carbon neutrality in São Paulo by 2050.

The ACV Network advocates for sustainable production and consumption models, from sourcing raw materials to recycling goods and properly disposing of non-recyclable waste. The group holds regular meetings, debates, and training sessions, and offers technical support to both the public and private sectors.

“This partnership is a great opportunity to showcase successful initiatives from São Paulo, learn about other proven strategies, and collaborate with companies and organizations across various industries to accelerate the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable economic model,” said Marília Garcez, InvestSP’s Director of Strategy and Intelligence.

Among the companies and institutions that are part of the ACV Network are Arcelor Mittal, Basf, 3M, Bayer, Braskem, Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), Embrapa, São Paulo’s Institute for Technological Research (IPT), Raízen, Vale, and KPMG.
