Investe SP seeking companies at the largest oil and gas international exhibition
In addition to prospecting companies that are exhibiting at the Offshore Technology Conference 2012, the director of Investe SP participated in the seminar about investment opportunities in the oil and gas supply chain
The Director of Institutional and International Relations of Investe SP, Sérgio Costa, attended the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2012, which took place between April 30 and May 3, at Reliant Center, in Houston, USA. This is the most important event in the world dedicated to the development of offshore resources in the fields of exploration, drilling, production and environmental protection, which includes the participation of over 2000 companies and with an audience of more than 50,000 people.
Costa contacted directly the exhibiting companies from more than 100 countries, in order to attract new investments and generate jobs for the State of São Paulo. Last Wednesday, May 2, the director presented the competitive advantages offered by the state at the seminar “Investing in Brazil’s Oil & Gas Supply Chain”.
“It was a unique opportunity to present the state of São Paulo as the best destination for investments to businessmen who are really interested in settling in Brazil, becoming suppliers of Petrobras and other major oil companies,” said Costa.
He noted that the State has the largest consumer market in South America, skilled labor, infrastructure and logistics of international quality, wide supply chain, among others. The director also presented the investments already supported by Investe São Paulo, as well as the range of services offered for free by the agency.
Organized by FDI Intelligence, from the Financial Times Group, in partnership with Apex-Brazil, and supported by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), the event occurred in parallel to the OTC and was attended by approximately 120 guests. The audience consisted of potential investors, mostly suppliers of the oil and gas chain, interested in settling in Brazil, especially in light of the recent discoveries of the pre-salt.
Costa also participated in other important events: on Wednesday, May 2, there was a lecture addressing the policy for the acquisition and supply of equipment of Petrobras, and on Tuesday, May 1, the “Tuesday Breakfast”, a breakfast prepared by the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Texas (Bratecc).
Still in the United States, on Friday, May 4, Costa will meet with the Consul-General of Brazil in Houston, Mario Ernani Saade, to introduce the agency and show how it works to attract investments to the state.
