Investe SP receives Italians seeking opportunities
Week marked by meetings with Italian companies seeking strengthening of relations with State of São Paulo
2011 celebrates the year of Italy in Brazil. Throughout the year events will be held to narrow the relationship between entities and companies of both countries. Investe São Paulo is taking advantage of the presence of Italians in the country to strengthen the relationship with corporate and governmental entities of Italy. Three meetings were held in the first week of February with representatives of Italian regions.
Last Wednesday, February 2, Sandro Marcheti, representing the municipal government of Chieti, was at the headquarters of the Agency with the purpose of identifying sectors with possibility of businesses in the State of São Paulo, focusing on renewable energy, infrastructure and the FIFA World Cup. This is the second time representatives of Investe São Paulo and Italians of Chieti get together. In May 2010, officials of the São Paulo agency were in Italy for a series of meetings.
The next day, the Director of the Chamber of Commerce of Modena - PROMEC, Agostino Pesce were at the office of Investe São Paulo to discuss the possibility of doing business in the metal-mechanic and autoparts sector, the strengthening of the relationship between the Italian institution and the São Paulo agency and the holding of joint actions to inform business opportunities.
Wrapping up the meetings, this Friday, the President of GE.FI, company that holds the EIRE - Expo Itália Real Estate, Antonio Intiglietta, and the representative of PROMOS, the Special Agency of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, Patrícia Orrico, submitted to Investe São Paulo a proposal for participation in the 2011 EIRE, which will be held in Milan from the 7th to the 9th of June.
According to the General Manager of institutional and international relations of Investe São Paulo, Wilson Soares, the week was important for Italian investments to be captured in the future. "São Paulo is a State that has strong influence of the Italian immigration and there are many cultural traits in common. Italians know it is a good time to invest in Brazil, and Sao Paulo is a natural choice", he said.
