Investe São Paulo, the São Paulo State agency responsible for attracting investments to the State, received this Monday, March 21, at its headquarters, representatives of the Lower Saxony (Germany) for a meeting on cooperation and business opportunities between both States. At the meeting were present the Director of Investe São Paulo, Sérgio Costa and Secretary of State for Economics, Labor and Transport of the Lower Saxony, Jörg Bode.

He listed the priority sectors for investments, such as oil and gas, aerospace and renewable energy, and explained the guidelines of the new management of the Government of São Paulo. "The current Government seeks to keep all means of investment incentives aligned, from appropriate technical courses for each sector until the providing of credit. Investe SP is available to help any type of company willing to get installed here and, having in mind we will have big events like the 2014 World Cup, the infrastructure sector, which involves transport, sanitation, housing, education, hospitality, among other things, will be one of our priorities", he said.
The Secretary of the Lower Saxony, Jörg Bode, emphasized the relevance of getting closer to Brazil, more specifically to the State of São Paulo, for the midsize companies to trust in the country as a safe place to invest. "There are German companies installed here for years. But for mid-sized businesses, the Atlantic seems too big, we need to work to remind them that to invest here or in China, the distance may be the same. The contact is very important for us to focus more on the investments of companies from the Lower Saxony in Brazil", he said.
Regarding to Lower Saxony
The Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen) is one of the 16 German States and it is located in the Northwest of the country. Hanover, its capital, has 516 thousand inhabitants, and it is an industrial and service rendering center. It is the second largest State in Germany in land, and two-thirds of the land is used for agriculture. Still, it cannot be considered a rural State because of its highly developed industrial sector.
