On November 7, the director of Investe São Paulo, Ermínio Lucci, attended the institutional panel of the 9th edition of Acelera Startup Contest in São Paulo, promoted by Acelera FIESP Committee (CAF) of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp).

On that occasion, Lucci, who also accompanied the earlier stages of the contest, presented the work developed by Investe SP to attract investments and promote exports, in addition to the recent initiatives of the Agency to strengthen the role of the ecosystem of support to startups, such as the itinerant event known as SP Conecta and SP Conecta Map.

“It is a pleasure to participate in another stage of this contest which has become an important tool to support entrepreneurship and innovation in the state of São Paulo,” said the director of Investe SP.

The panel was also attended by representatives of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), Desenvolve SP and AES Eletropaulo.

About Acelera Startup

Acelera Startup aims to encourage innovative entrepreneurship and bring projects and companies closer to investors. Projects or companies, both pre-operational (with no revenues) and operational (with revenues), are participating, in the categories overall; sports; social business; virtual reality and games.

The ninth edition of the event featured presentations on innovation, investment and entrepreneurship, and the finalists’ pitches to the most selected investors in the market. Approximately 300 entrepreneurs had projects or startups selected in the first phase of evaluation.

The ten most highly evaluated (six operational and four pre-operational) were finalists in the event, being able to show their business, in the elevator pitch model (lasting up to three minutes), to the examination board formed by investors. Two of them will be the winners, one operational and the other pre-operational, regardless of the category. This afternoon, November 8, the innovative projects and companies, both in pre-operational and operational phases, will be awarded.

In the previous editions of the event, over 11,500 entries were received from all over Brazil, with the participation of more than 300 mentors and 250 investors. Considering the previous editions (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016), the event has generated investments exceeding R$ 5 million.
