Investe SP entered into a memorandum of cooperation with an agency from Charlotte to attract investments
The purpose of the partnership is to stimulate the economic relations between the State of São Paulo and the Charlotte area; the event marked the end of the mission of Investe SP in the United States
At the end of the mission of Investe SP in the United States, this Monday, April 16, the President of Investe SP, Luciano Almeida, entered into a memorandum of understanding with the agency Charlotte Regional Partnership. The organization is responsible for promoting investments and support the generation of jobs in 16 counties in North Carolina and South Carolina.
“Similar to Investe SP, which is the gateway for companies who wish to settle in Brazil, Charlotte Regional Partnership is also the gateway to the Charlotte area,” said the president of Investe SP. “This partnership is important because, just as the agency from Charlotte managed to identify companies interested in investing in São Paulo, we can introduce the companies from São Paulo interested in doing business in Charlotte,” said Almeida.
For the chairman of Charlotte Regional Partnership, Brett Carter, the memorandum helps to ensure that companies from both regions continue succeeding in their business. Six Brazilian companies are located in the Charlotte area. At the end of last year, the law firm K&L Gates, which is also settled in Charlotte, opened an office in São Paulo to improve the service to clients in Brazil and Latin America.
Mission review
In addition to Charlotte, the president of Investe SP and the International analyst of the agency, Rafael Murgi, visited Boston, New York and Washington D.C. last week, where they met with business leaders and participated in seminars about investment opportunities, held in conjunction with the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham).
In total, approximately 200 American investors were able to learn about the opportunities in the State of São Paulo. Almeida also participated in the Conference “Brazil-United States: Partnership for the 21st Century.” The event was part of the official visit of President Dilma Rousseff to Washington.
