Investe São Paulo seeks investors in the 15th edition of Brazil Network Day in the Netherlands

Sérgio Costa, the director of the agency, showed the advantages of investing in the State of São Paulo

The Brazilian Embassy in The Hague, in the Netherlands, held on November 15 the Brazil Network Day that is an initiative that takes place twice a year since 2011. The 15th edition was held in Amsterdam and gathered business executives, investors, government institutions, authorities and opinion makers to talk about business opportunities between Brazilian and Dutch companies in the areas of science, innovation and technology.

Sérgio Costa, the Investe São Paulo director, presented the potential of São Paulo market and its strengths in the innovation field. "São Paulo is the state that most invests in research and development in Brazil. We know that innovation is essential for companies that want to attract new consumers. Our market has over 45 million people with potential for the Dutch technology companies do great business in the state and thus help raise our level of innovation," said Costa.

The doubts were clarified by Costa and other participants of the panel discussion, formed by: Tjerk Opmeer, international director of the Dutch entrepreneurship agency; Thiago Coelho Toscano, director of SP Partnerships; Paulo Fraccaro, superintendent of ABIMO; and Euclides de Mesquita Neto, special adviser of FAPESP.

The businessmen at the event were optimistic about the information they received on the economy of São Paulo. They seemed to be open to strengthen the relationship with Investe São Paulo in order to obtain more information about the state's potential to receive Dutch companies.

"The event was a great opportunity to attract new business to the state. With a highly qualified audience, we were able to speak directly with people who make the decision to invest overseas. We fulfilled our objective: show that investing in São Paulo is good business," concluded Sérgio Costa.
