Industrial confidence index increases in June

By closing the month of June at 66 points, the Index of the Confidence of the Industrial Entrepreneur (ICEI), calculated by the National Confederation of the Industry (CNI), was 6.8 points above the historical average, which is 59.2 points. For the confederation, the optimism regarding the current performance of the economy feeds the confidence in the future. According to the study of the CNI, the entrepreneurs' expectations about the economy's growth over the next six months remains positive despite the slight drop in June. The indicator for the next six months fell from 69.1 points in May to 68.6 points in June. "This indicates that the industry will maintain the pace of investment", say the CNI technicians.
The research also shows that civil engineering is the activity with the highest index of optimism. The Icei of the sector was 66.4 points in June, according to the CNI survey, showing a growth of 0.7 points compared to the index of the last month. The mining industry recorded 65 points on the scale of trust and the processing industry, 65.1 points.
Compared to May, the index of the feeling of the entrepreneur of the industrial sector was 0.3 point below. Also, according to CNI, the optimism of the industrial entrepreneur remains high. When broken down by the industries size, the indicator shows that the confidence is higher among managers of large companies. Such is true that, in large companies, the Icei reached 67.1 points this month, graduation higher than the one of 65.9 points of the averages and the one of 64.6 points registered between entrepreneurs of small industries. "The big ones have more access to the working capital", says the executive manager of Research of CNI, Renato da Fonseca. Moreover, he says, a great part of the optimism of large companies is the result of the export growth.
