In order to complement the rendering of services in the area of industrial maintenance, Hilub, a company specialized in the management of lubrication, bought the Predictiva group with strong presence in the South of the country for R$ 4 million (US$ 2.3 million). As of the acquisition, the expectation is that the earnings of the company get to R$ 27 million (US$ 15.7 million) in 2010, compared to 2009's R$ 18 million (US$ 9.1 million). Last year, the businesses of the sector were strongly affected by the crisis, but there are already signs of consistent resumption in the area of maintenance, said Hilub's incorporator Miguel Pardo Júnior. Such recovery in the segment, associated to the more complete offer of services justifies the perspective of increase of the gross income throughout this year, explains the entrepreneur.

With Predictiva, Hilub will add 35 new professionals to its structure, which currently has 400 employees, as well as 205 new contracts to the portfolio that already has relevant customers, among which are Petrobras, Vale and ArcelorMittal. Besides, Hilub, which prior to the purchase worked in the lubrication management and off-road transport, starts to provide services that assure that a machine or piece of equipment continues working while indicating a possible vulnerability in advance.

In 2009, Pardo says, the earnings of Hilub retreated 23% compared to those of the previous year and the fall was not bigger because the lubrication management is essential in the segment of industrial maintenance. "Now we see that some projects have started coming out of the paper and instead of hiring direct employees, the companies are choosing to outsource". Hilub was founded in 1992 in São Paulo and covers the whole country and also renders services in Chile and Spain.
