GVT to speed up investment in 2010 because of São Paulo

Optimistic with the economic scenario and the demand for telecommunications services, the Paraná State operator GVT will speed up the investments in 2010. The disbursement will be of at least R$ 720 million (US$ 373.1 million), a figure 20% above the minimum foreseen for this year. Part of the money should be aimed at the expected ingress of GVT in the State of São Paulo, as disclosed the president of the operator, the Israeli Amos Genish.
In spite of speeding up the arrival of the company to São Paulo, Genish preferred not to specify which municipalities will be the first ones to receive the services of GVT. "All I can say it is the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo", said the president of the operator. Before that, however, the project of expansion of GVT will go through "another great city", which will have its name announced only in October this year, together with two average-size municipalities. According to Genish, the population of the new areas amount to 2.6 million inhabitants.
