With the presence of President Michel Temer and nine ministers, the government will hold a mega-business event on August 30 and 31 to sell the "new moment of Brazil" to foreign investors. The Brazil 2017 Investment Forum, which takes place in São Paulo, already has almost 1,000 private-sector representatives registered. The presence of Sergio Marchionne (CEO of Fiat Chrysler), José Antonio Álvarez (chief executive of Santander) and presidents of Latin American units or Brazilian subsidiaries of companies such as GE, ABB, Siemens, Citi, Credit Suisse, Syngenta, Merck, Shell and State Grid is confirmed. Also during the forum, the Planning Ministry will launch the Brazil-China Cooperation Fund for Expansion of Productive Capacity. With up to $20 billion, the mechanism will finance projects considered priorities by both governments.
