General Motors enlarges installations in S. Paulo

General Motors of Brazil informed it will enlarge the Industrial and Commercial Complex of GM of Mogi das Cruzes (SP). The installation will need the hiring of 300 new employees and "the operation, beginning next August, will work on three shifts". Regarding the Distribution Center for Parts of GM, in Sorocaba (SP), in operation for 12 years now, "100 new jobs will also be created. The total investment in both units will be R$ 50 million (US$ 30.7 million)". "The Brazilian market is going through a special moment of expressive growth, which leads us to the increase of our activities in the units the company in the Country", points out José Carlos Pinheiro Neto, Vice-president of General Motors do Brasil on a note. The manufacturing area in the Mogi Complex, which includes the stamping sector, will absorb already next August, new assembly cells of some subgroups of the line of the models Chevrolet Astra, Classic and Vectra, which were previously produced in the unit of São Caetano do Sul (São Paulo Metropolitan Region).
