Fuels grow 5.35% in October

Fuel consumption grew 5.35% in Brazil in October, to 9,503 billion liters. For specialists, the performance signals the financial crisis still does not cause great reflexes in the sector. However, until the first half, the increase in consumption was nearly 10%, now, YTD it is at 9.1%. Hydrated alcohol continues in the spotlight, with an increase of 21.4% in the month, compared to the same period of the previous year. YTD, sales of the product are 44.9% above those seen in the first ten months of 2007. The consumption of Type C gasoline (mixture sold in the gas stations with 25% of anhydrous alcohol) has also presented an increase of 5.26% this month. Excluding the volume of ethanol added to the final mixture, the sales of pure gasoline got to 1.67 billion liters, smaller than the 1.76 billion liters of ethanol commercialized in the Country. The sale of diesel, on its turn, grew 5.49%. YTD, the sale of the product has increased 8.9%.
