Folha de S. Paulo

ETH Bioenergy, a branch of Odebrecht for the production and sale of ethanol, electric energy and sugar, will sign a partnership with FAPESP (Foundation of Research Support of the State of São Paulo) to carry out researches on clean energy. The initiative includes support for students and teachers of universities associated to FAPESP for scientific researches. This is the first partnership between plant and universities in agricultural issues with emphasis on clean technology. The agreement, which still has its terms subject to consideration by the board of FAPESP, has duration planned for five years. The expectation is that the investments in research reach R$ 10 million (US$ 5,9 million). ETH maintains seven units cogenerators of electric energy through the processing of the sugar cane bagasse.
