Entrepreneurs expect to sell more in fourth quarter, survey shows

A Survey made by Serasa Experian, disclosed yesterday, shows that 65% of the entrepreneurs will review the sales estimates in the last quarter. From this total, 77% will increase the forecast. In the sector analysis, the services sector is the most optimistic one, with 79% of its entrepreneurs changing their earnings upwards, followed by the industry (76%) and the commerce (75%).  

In the size evaluation, however, the medium-sized companies lead the positive review in earnings (80%), followed by small-sized companies (77%) and large ones (67%). Most of the entrepreneurs of the Northeast (90%) bets on the increase of the earnings in the last three months of the year. Next come the entrepreneurs from the North (82%), the Midwest and the Southeast (76%), tied, and lastly the South ones (71%).

Considering the result of the third quarter, only 13% of the entrepreneurs said the earnings were above the expected, while 47% assessed the earnings were as expected and 40%, below. For the next year, 73% of the entrepreneurs, from the whole country, expect earnings better than 2009's. Another 21% believe it will be the same and 6% expect to earn less.

The sectors also follow the trend: industry (74%), commerce (72%) and services (72%). As per size, the medium-sized companies (77%) are the most confident ones as per the evolution of the earnings in the next year, followed closely by the small-sized companies (72%) and large ones (71%).

The level of stocks has remained within expectations in the third quarter for 67% of the entrepreneurs and above what was planned for 17% of them. As for the expectation for the staff in the last quarter it should remain unchanged for 64% of the entrepreneurs, increase for 28% of them and decrease for the remaining 8%.
