Embraer to Open a Business Jet base in Sorocaba, just outside São Paulo
Four months after the announcement of the new service center for executive jets in Brazil, Embraer started work at Bertram Luiz Leupolz (SOD) airport in Sorocaba, Sao Paulo near the capital.
With 20000 square meters in area, the Embraer Service Center will include hangars, lounges, meeting rooms for clients and rest rooms for the crew, and administrative offices. It will offer a wide range of maintenance, repair and overhaul, as well as terminals for loading and unloading of passengers, allowing maximum operational flexibility to its customers. The opening is scheduled for the second half of 2013.
"This initiative reinforces our commitment to serve our clients well in Brazil," said Edson Carlos Mallaco, Director of Support and Customer Services - Executive Jets. "As one of the top three companies in aviation support and services, we will continue to invest in improvements to increase the satisfaction of our customers even more."
To implement the new Service Center, Embraer has cooperated with the State Government of São Paulo, through the Aviation Department of the State of São Paulo, DAESP, and Invest São Paulo, Besides the City of Sorocaba.
The design center is the result of a thorough market research with customers, government authorities and aviation marketing experts in order to set a standard in concepts and services that take full account of the needs of customers. With an estimated investment of USD 25 million in the first five years, the unit will generate up to 250 direct jobs.
The Sorocaba Unit will expand the support to the growing fleet of Embraer Executive Jets in Brazil, joining the Embraer Service Center, already in operation in São José dos Campos, and the other four committed in Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Goiânia and Curitiba.
