O Estado de S. Paulo - 11/15/2007

Embraer announced sales of US$ 1.1 billion in the Dubai Air Show that ended yesterday. The company has received sound orders of 66 aircrafts, between commercial and executive jets. Executive aviation was the company's highlight in the Middle Eastern show, responding for more than half of the orders, a total of US$ 623 million. There were seven sound orders of the Lineage 1000, the largest executive jet produced by the manufacturer, seven sound orders of the Legacy 600 and 37 other units of the Phenom, a jet of the Very Light Jet category, the smallest one of the market. "The Middle East continues standing out as an important market for executive aviation", affirmed the vice-president of Embraer for the Market of Executive Aviation, Luis Carlos Affonso, in an official announcement released by the company. As the third largest air show of the world, only behind the traditional companies Farnborough (England) and Le Bourget (France), the Dubai Air Show was a demonstration of the greatness of the Middle Eastern aviation. Together, the manufacturers have announced orders of more that US$ 100 billion, standing out Airbus with sales of US$ 28 billion, followed by Boeing.
