Director of Investe SP participates in the opening of the new plant of Trelleborg
Plant located in Santana de Parnaíba will produce components for the printing and oil and gas industries
The director of Institutional and International Relations of Investe São Paulo, Sérgio Costa, participated on Tuesday morning, October 9, in the opening of the new plant of Trelleborg in Santana de Parnaíba. The facility will develop printing blankets for the printing industry and oil hoses for applications used in the offshore extraction of oil and gas.
“The opening of the plant shows that Trelleborg is committed to not only contribute to the development of the country, but also of the State of São Paulo. Investe SP is available to contribute to the company’s competitiveness in the State and ensure that choosing São Paulo was the best decision the company has ever made,” said Costa in his speech.
According to the company, the operations of the new plant are included in the business area of Trelleborg Engineered Systems and are part of the strategy to grow in selected, attractive and profitable markets and segments. “It’s very obvious that we have come to stay and focus on this part of the world,” said Peter Nilsson, President and CEO of Trelleborg in Brazil, referring to the company’s recent investments in the country.
“The offshore industry, which has been under a solid expansion in Brazil, justifies the investments in the country. Our sales for the oil and gas sector in Brazil have been significant for some time now,” added Nilsson.
Trelleborg also has facilities in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, and in São José dos Campos. These facilities produce items based on the polymer technology, such as floating products, hoses and seals. There are about 400 employees in Brazil and sales total approximately US$ 344.6 million.
The event was also attended by the general manager of marketing for sealing solutions in the Americas, Matt Flanagan; for the system of tires, José Oliveira; the key account manager, Oscar Duque; the president of Trelleborg Industrial Solutions, Mikael Fryklund; the president of BA Coated Systems and Printing Solutions, Dario Porta; and the Ambassador of Sweden in Brazil, Magnus Robach.
