“The state of São Paulo benefits from the arrival of a company of the size and quality of Danone, which confirms the potential of our state,” said Quirós

The French company Danone, the largest manufacturer of yogurts in the country, acquired an area covering over 500,000 square meters, in Itapetininga, where the new investment of the multinational will be located. Over the past 90 days, Investe São Paulo has been working with the company to keep the project in the state.

The city has the infrastructure required and is strategically positioned for the logistics and distribution of products. On Friday, July 17, the mayor of Itapetininga, Luis Di Fiori, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding between the city and the multinational, which was represented by its directors.

Danone has not yet announced its production expectations, investment figures or the deadlines and dimensions of the new plant. The area is located in the industrial zone of the city, near the highway Raposo Tavares, next to Bairro Ponte Alta.

Potential

The president of Investe São Paulo, Juan Quirós, said that the yogurt market has a huge growth potential in Brazil and reports consumption rates per capita lower than smaller countries, such as Argentina, for example.

According to Juan Quirós, “the state of São Paulo benefits from the arrival of a company of the size and quality of Danone, which confirms the potential of our state and also the importance of the efforts of Investe SP’s team in partnership with the company and the municipality,” he said.
