Cosmetics manufacturers project 30% high in 2010

Ignoring the moment of crisis and benefited from the improvement of the salary mass of the Country - which led the C and D classes to consume new products -, the cosmetics sector in Brazil, segment that is expanding with the strong arrival of new market players, should have growth above 30% in 2010, according to the manufacturers consulted by the DCI. The increase of launchings to attract new consumers will also generate the need of investments for the increase of the productive installed capacity.

The manufacturer of hair products Truss is in the final stage of its new plant that will increase the production due to the increased demand of the market. "The cosmetics market grows every year and it is necessary to be always ahead in order to be in such a competitive market. We are investing in this new plant so that we can operate at full steam in 2010", said the Director of Truss, Manuella Bossa. For 2010, the expected growth is 35%, after ending 2009 with a 31% expansion.

In order to monitor the market, the strategy of Aspa Cosméticos will be to reduce the costs to invest more in launchings and in possible acquisitions of rival brands so as to achieve its growth, according to the President, Demetre Giokaris. "The company is placing more automatic lines, investing in building and in improvements of flow and communication", said the Executive.

Another manufacturer that already studies the increase of the capacity in 2010 is DepiRoll, as told the DCI the Marketing Manager of the company, Cristina Pontes. "The depilation category has grown 30% in the national market and DepiRoll keeps up with the growth with innovations and launchings and continues in the leadership with 44.1% of market share", said the Executive. Besides keeping the leadership, the manufacturer now wants to strongly get into in male hygiene market.

Manufacturer Tânagra Cosméticos had to outsource part of its production in order to be able to meet demand in 2009, as informed the DCI the Tânagra Cosméticos officer Fausto Silva Jr. "The company is analyzing and studying the possibility of a new plant to be installed, in order to increase the productive capacity", said the Executive. According to Silva, the sales for the retail are those that presented the most expressive growth, during 2009, of 35%.
