After acquiring the gas stations of the Petrosul chain this month, Cosan Combustíveis e Lubrificantes, owner of the right of use of the Esso and Mobil trademarks in Brazil, announces the construction of an Ethanol Collection Center in Ourinhos (SP). The project consolidates the company's plans to strengthen itself in the fuel segment in the country.

Granted by municipal government, the piece of land with nearly 80 thousand square meters will be an important center of reception of ethanol from the plants of the region. The purpose is to cater to all the Southern Region by railroad and road modals, thus increasing the operation of Cosan in the market that is one of the major centers of consumption in Brazil even more.

The beginning of the operations of the Ethanol Collection Center is scheduled for the end of next year, significantly facilitating the distribution logistics for the ethanol produced in the region of Ourinhos. The fuel shall be received by trucks to be later distributed in tank wagons for the railroad transportation, and it will also be delivered through the road modal. The company will operate nearly 1 million liters of ethanol a day that will fill up 500 wagons a month.

The terminal will be able to receive much of the 420 thousand square meters of ethanol the company produces in the region, with plants located in the municipalities of Paraguaçu Paulista, Tarumã, Maracai and Ipaussu, all in the State of São Paulo.

"The partnership with the municipal government of Ourinhos has been extremely important for the Cosan group, mainly due to the fact the municipality is at a privileged location in the productive cycle of the company", says Nilton Gabardo, Business Development Manager. "The setting of the Collection Center will allow the increase of the businesses made in the municipality and in the region, promoting local development", he adds.
