O Estado de S. Paulo
Emerging class C consumer who have never traveled by plane have leveraged sales of the airline industry. According to the study of Serasa Experian, one of the highlights of the service sector in the third quarter was the air transportation. "There was an increase in passenger numbers because of the growth in average incomes of the population and installment sales as strategy to capture new customers in Class C", said Marcos Abreu, who led the study.
One year will be completed in December since Gol has opened in Largo 13 de Maio, in Santo Amaro, a place of popular trade, the first physical store of Fly Easy (Voe Fácil). This is a program that allows the payment of tickets into installments at up to 36 months, with minimum installments from R$ 15 (US$ 9) per month.
The decision to have a physical store of an Internet sales program was made because the company realized that this type of customer likes to have contact with the salesperson. Encouraged by the performance of the store, the company plans four more points of sale in areas of popular trade until the end of the next year.
According to Gol, the Fly Easy has nearly two million registered customers and accounts for 4% of tickets sold by the company. About 70% of the customers are of class C and 10% of class D. The installments in 36 months, equivalent to three years, which could initially attract this segment of the population is not, in practice, the one that draws the attention of these consumers. Most customers interviewed by the Estado de S. Paulo on Friday said that is buying the tickets in cash or in a small number of installments.
