The global company Ceva Logistics, with strong operation in the car industry, which earned 5.5 billion Euros last year, foresees achieving earnings of R$ 1 billion (US$ 555.6 million) this year in Brazil and consolidate among the largest companies in the logistics in the country. For that, the company bet on the growth of five areas in which it operates - industrial, energy, automotive, technological and consumer goods - and it expects to close two major contracts with companies in the cosmetics area in Brazil.

Projecting growth of up to 15% this year, Ceva, which earned R$ 868 million (US$ 440.6 million), which represents growth of 17% last year, exceeding all the expectations for the year, because of the global economic crisis that strongly influenced the car sector, begins the year with great optimism, but it does not hide that to achieve such growth it will focus exclusively on areas it already operates. "Ceva has very strong operation in the car market in the world, and the crisis has affected our growth potential for the year. Nevertheless, in Brazil, with all the incentives the Government granted, we overcame the expectations and grew 17%", said the Vice President for the Development of New Businesses, Wagner Covos.

Covos, however, stressed out that the plan this year is to leverage the investments made over the past two years, mainly with the new distribution center in Louveira (SP), which was one of the greatest investments made by the company, and focus on the areas in which the company discreetly operated, such as consumer goods, in which Ceva is targeting two major cosmetic Brazilian industries. Besides highlighting that area, Covos does not conceal he intends to increase more the action of the company concerning the international transport and customs clearance for the car sector, which currently represents 60% of the earnings of the company. The company that in Brazil already has clients such as General Motors (GM), Ford, Renault and Fiat, among others, also foresees developing new logistics projects for such industries. Ceva already operates in the plants of those companies in the country, but it still does not develop international transport businesses for them. "Unlike the technology market, in which we have strong operation in companies such as Dell, HP, IBM, and Philips, among others, in international transport, but we are not strong in the warehousing and distribution logistics, we want to do such a mix", emphasized Covos.

In the industrial sector, which also represents a great part of the earnings of the company and has clients such as Caterpillar, besides a client related to the aerospace sector, the idea is to give priority to the manufactured products. Nevertheless, Covos does not conceal the optimism with the fast development of the area of energy in Brazil. The company that already has Petrobras as client aims at the giant service renderers of the sector. The company currently has five distribution centers in Brazil - Louveira, Diadema and Jundiaí, in São Paulo, Cachoeirinha, in Porto Alegre, and São José dos Pinhais, in the State of Paraná - and it has more than 1,100 companies accredited to perform the transportation of different goods.
