Brazil receives funds from Dassault
Valor Econômico 08/15/2008
Dassault Falcon, a division of the French producer of executive aircrafts chose Sorocaba (SP), in the interior of São Paulo, to install its first service center outside Europe and the United States. With this project, which will consume an investment of US$ 6.5 million, the company is getting ready to more than double its sales in Brazil in less than four years. All manufacturers of executive airplanes agree the Latin American market is at full expansion. But what caught the eyes of the international President of Dassault Falcon, Jean Rosanvallon, in recent readings regarding the economy in the region, is that the presence of the largest companies of the world increases much more in Brazil than in other countries of the continent, like Mexico. "That shows the speed of the growth of businesses in Brazil", he says. The Dassault fleet in Brazil, which must reach 22 aircrafts in 2008, will leap to at least 50 units in less than four years, in the calculations of the French manufacturer. The increase in volume justifies the creation of its own service center. Dassault will be the first foreign manufacturer of executive aircrafts to have its own service center in Brazil. A hangar of more than 2 thousand square meters in the region of the airport of Sorocaba will be built until the end of the year. Rosanvallon explains that getting installed in Sorocaba is a means of escaping from the jammed airport of Congonhas. The São Paulo center will receive a supply of spare parts and tools to guarantee the maintenance of the Falcon aircrafts flying all around Latin America.
