Brazil is 4th favorite destination of foreigners to invest
Folha de S. Paulo
Brazil is the fourth destination chosen by foreign businessmen at the time of planning their investments this year, gaining two positions compared to the prior survey, according to the American consulting firm A.T. Kearney. The interest for the country involves factors such as prospects for growth that are more positive than most of the global economies, the desire of the entrepreneurs of being present in the Brazilian market at the time of the resumption and the stability of the rules. "It is the reliance you will be able to invest in the country and benefit from your investment", says Dario Gaspar, Vice President of the consulting firm.
And the entrepreneurs who are most interested in Brazil are those connected to the heavy industry, focused on areas such as oil (due to the pre-salt), chemistry, mortar (due to the perspectives of progress in the sectors of infrastructure and civil engineering) and automobiles - in which the country appears as one of the main bets of the biggest global car makers.
Another indicator the global entrepreneurship is confident in the Brazilian economy is that 22% of them said the current prospects are better than those of a year ago. Only China and India have more positive indices than Brazil. For A.T. Kearney, the entrepreneurs believe the investments in these three countries are seen as essential to maintain the competitiveness in the market in the future.
Besides, the confidence in Brazil is not concentrated in one single region. Even though North America leads the optimism in relation to Brazil, the country also appears among the first ones among the European and Asian investors. "Brazil is increasingly becoming known outside the country", says Gaspar.
