Bar owners expect 35% more movement

The owners of bars of the capital of São Paulo estimate an average growth of 35% in income during the FIFA Soccer World CupTM next month, according to the survey of the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of São Paulo (Fecomercio). 87.5% of the businessmen polled already broadcast soccer matches on a regular basis. 80% of them say it is possible to see an increase in the number of consumers in the days of the matches.
To encourage consumption, 50% of the bars showing the games on their screens plan some attractions. Nearly 40% intend to offer snacks and make promotions on the beverages and 25% shall distribute or draft giveaways, such as hats and flags. The time-zone, however, will not favor bar owners. With a five-hour time difference between Brazil and South Africa, the first two games of the Brazilian soccer team will be broadcasted at 3:30 p.m., and the third, at 11 a.m., Brasilia-time. Still at sunlight, 73% of the São Paulo citizens affirm they intend to watch the games at home with their family and friends. The bars should be the option of 9% of those who live in São Paulo, while 8% expect to see FIFA Cup games at their workplace.
