Bakery boosts machinery industry

DCI – 07/21/10

With a heated market featuring growth near 40% compared to last year, the bakery sector will take advantage of the 17th edition of the International Bakery Trade Show (Fipan), which begins today, to increase the production and the sales.  "We sell all year around, but it is in the Fipan that the companies heat up in the market and assure their sales", says the coordinator of Prática Technicook, a company that makes professional ovens for bakeries, Cleyton Francisco Pereira.

The industry that is a bakery supplier will undergo restructuring in order to comply with the new safety standards set by the ABNT (Brazilian Technical Standards Association) that go into effect this year. "I believe such measure should once again leverage the sales of the companies that sell the product that are already properly authenticated".

For the Director of Granomaq, Adair Sgarabotto, the factor that influenced the growth of the bakery industry the most was the fall in the interest rates combined with the incentives of the Federal Government.  "The Ministry of Labor demands the bakeries renew the machines, an initiative the sector has already been taking, which also helps our sector renew and grow".  According to him, the company should sell 80 machines only in the trade show and present 25% growth this year.

Peruvian David Pecker Namer, Director of Argental in Brazil, believes the Country is able to receive new investments and continue growing.  "We have an economic policy and fairly clear rules, financial tools that allow the entrepreneur to invest in the Country, besides the judicial security, which is fantastic.  We are able to invest in Brazil in the long-term because with a government that sets the rules and remains strong there is neither terror nor fear. Our intention is to double the sales this year".

The 17th edition of the International Bakery Trade Show (Fipan) begins today promising to heat up the businesses in the sector.  The manufacturers of machinery for the segment, for instance, foresee an increase in the sales in the event.  "We sell all year around, but it is in the Fipan that the companies heat up in the market and assure our sales", says the coordinator of Prática Technicook, a company that makes professional ovens for bakeries, Cleyton Pereira.
