The Secretariat for Development of the State of São Paulo and the Municipal Government of Aracatuba (SP) signed this Wednesday (10/27) the provisional accreditation of the city in the São Paulo System of Technological Parks (SPTec). The municipality has projects for a complex to be built in two areas of the Industrial District Maria Isabel Almeida Prado, near the Elyeser Montenegro Magalhães highway (SP 463). The park will be intended for the areas of research and development in animal genetics, renewable energy, food agribusiness and sugar and alcohol production, focused on biofuels and bioenergy, areas related to the economic vocation of the region. The goal of the provisional accreditation is to structure the Technological Park and attract innovative companies interested in investing on the site. Companies installed in technological parks of the SPTec may participate in the state program of tax incentives, the Pró-Parques.
The State of São Paulo has 30 initiatives for the implementation of technological parks and, with Araçatuba, there are already 18 with temporary accreditation in the SPTec: Barretos, Botucatu, Campinas (two initiatives: Center of Research and Innovation of the UNICAMP (University of Campinas) and the CPqD (Center for Research and Development in Telecommunications)), Ilha Solteira, Mackenzie-Tamboré, Piracicaba, Ribeirão Preto, Santo André, Santos, São Carlos (two initiatives: ParqTec and Eco-Technological Park), São José do Rio Preto, São José dos Campos, São Paulo (two initiatives: Jaguaré and East Side) and Sorocaba.
