ALL foresees increasing transportation network in SP by 563%
Agência Estado - 09/11/2008
América Latina Logística (ALL) announced today, in Araraquara (SP), that it should increase by 563% the transported volume of sugar, alcohol, refrigerated cargo ship products and steel products until 2010 by the railroad network from Mato Grosso, going through the interior of São Paulo, to the Port of Santos. According to the company, only in the region of Araraquara (SP) clients of the company may invest R$ 26.3 million (US$ 16.1 million) in units of storage and logistic adaptation of interconnection to the railway. According to ALL's Commodities director Eduardo Pelleisone, although still in negotiations, the client's investments will "certainly" be consolidated in the next two years, mainly by the offer of areas for storage houses and logistics structures after the change of the railroad branch-line, which today crosses the city, to surround it. The works on the railroad branch-line surrounding the city of São Paulo should be concluded in 2009 and will be made with funds from the Growth Acceleration Plan (PAC). "Araraquara (SP) is a place where the whole railroad network is concentrated and our transportation obligatorily passes by here. One infrastructure like this is the ideal one", completed Pelleissone. Only in the sugar-alcohol segment, ALL hopes to expand from 140 thousand to 450 thousand tons of alcohol transported per year in the Araraquara-Paulínea-Santos route, and leap from 80 thousand to 750 thousand the transported volume of sugar between the São Paulo municipality, located in the biggest sugar and alcohol center of the Country, and the port of Santos. Already in the area of refrigerated cargo, Araraquara (SP) should be a center of storage, transshipment and distribution of products from Sadia and Perdigão, from the units of Mato Grosso to the State of São Paulo, and also to Santos. Finally, in the steel metallurgy sector, the route is the inverse, as Araraquara (SP), in ALL's evaluation, should be the center of distribution of products made in the Sorocaba (SP) region.
