The Brazilian industry of agricultural machinery is going through a good time. The sales of the sector registered a 46.4% increase in February compared to the same month of last year, getting to 5,329 units produced. Such increase is no surprise, since the sales in the segment have remained constant. In the monthly-basis comparison, for instance, the growth was 16.5% in February compared to January. "The Brazilian agricultural sector is heated, a good example of that are the sales of harvesters that registered a historic bimonthly record reaching an increase of 74.3% compared to the first two months of 2009", pointed out Jackson Schneider, President of the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).
Regarding the foreign sales, they face a more restricted market amounting to 1,108 units produced in February, a number that represents a 20% fall compared to the same month last year. But there is a sign of recovery when the comparison is made on a month-by-month basis, since compared to January the February sales were 20.6% bigger.
