Agency confirms 4 winners of highway public bidding in SP

Folha de S. Paulo – 01/07/2009

Artesp (Transport Regulation Agency of the State of São Paulo) approved yesterday four of the five winners of the concession bidding of the São Paulo highways held in October, 2008. The proposal of BRVias for the west stretch of Marechal Rondon Highway is the only one which is still under analysis. BRVias is controlled by the Splice Group, owned by the Constantino family (owner of Gol Airlines) and by Walter Torre. The approval of the other winners' rules turned away the rumors that the groups would not be able to provide the financial guarantees required for the execution plan of the works. According to the communication issued by Artesp the following proposals were accepted: TPI's for the Ayrton Senna-Carvalho Pinto corridor; Odebrecht's for Dom Pedro I highway; the proposal made by the consortium between Invepar-OAS for the Raposo Tavares Highway; and Brasinfra's (an association among Cibe, Ascendi and Leão & Leão) to undertake the concession of the east stretch of the Marechal Rondon highway. The losers still have five days to present appeals.
