Aerospace incentive

The Secretariat of Development of the State of São Paulo announced it will invest in the expansion of the Center for Design and Manufacture of the Local Productive Arrangement (LPA) of São José dos Campos (SP). Besides, two letters of intent were signed in order to stimulate the development in the aerospace area. The center will receive R$ 761 thousand (US$ 423 thousand) to enhance the prototyping and design services of aerospace models. The investment will be made in partnership with the Center for Competitiveness and Innovation in the São Paulo State East Cone (Cecompi).

According to the announcement made by the Secretary of Development, Geraldo Alckmin, from the total investments, R$ 420 thousand (US$ 233 thousand) will come from the Secretariat of Development and R$ 341 thousand (US$ 190 thousand) from the Cecompi. The funds will be used for the acquisition of a machining center and of a prototyping printer. The equipment should allow the prototypes and molds to be made inside the Technological Park of São José dos Campos.

The Secretariat of Development signed a letter of intent for the creation of the São Paulo Center for Aeronautical Training, which will work in the training of manpower specialized in aerospace technologies, in partnership with the Paula Souza Center, the National Agency of Civil Aviation, the Municipal Government of São José dos Campos, and the Aerospace Industries Association of Brazil.

Another letter of intent was signed by the São Paulo Agency for the Promotion of Investments and Competitiveness - Investe São Paulo and by the Brazilian Aeronautics Company (Embraer). The purpose is to attract aerospace companies to the State, with the development of measures that favor the setting up of suppliers of components, parts, and services used in the construction and assembly of airplanes.
